TVIX-M5000A (Product Review)

I just bought this device as gift to one of my friends, TVIX media jukebox is every downloader dream. The TVIX allow you to play any format video file or music file (avi, dvix, xvid, mpeg1-2, mp3 and more) on your regular TV screen. Just download the movies/shows you want transfer it to the device and play and enjoy, you can create folder and subfolder to organize your videos. You can also rip a whole DVD and store it and it will play it just like a DVD player.

The device also have an Ethernet and USB input, which mean you can play the movies straight from a shared folder on the server without the need to transfer it, and also you can connect and external hard drive through the USB port and play from it.

It also have the provisioning to view subtitles, for the DVD make sure you include the subtitles files, and for the other media file just include the .srt file for example in the same folder as the movie.

The only drawbacks and its really minimal, when you are viewing a media file let say .avi file you cannot skip (jump through the movie, some devices break the movie into small interval and allow you to skip through those) but you can fast forward up to 32x, so it’s not that bad. The other drawback that it looks ugly it looks like a trash can. For more infor here is the [link].

The Illusionist (Movie Review)

I anticipated this movie for so long, I finally got to see it yesterday. The reason that I have been waiting for this one is that it has one of my favorite actors “Edward Norton”. I truly believe that he is one of the most underrated actors in Hollywood. I mean the guy should have gotten something for his performances in “Primal Fear” and “American History X”.

Anyways hear is the plot the movie takes place back in the beginning of the century, in the city of Vienna. It’s about a teenage boy that’s a very talented magician, this boy falls madly in love with the city teenage princess. Due to the social difference they get separated and the boy leaves town to come back as one of the most amazing magicians the world has seen, and at this time the princess that he is madly in love with is married to the crowned prince (the most powerful man in the city).

The story moves at a slow base, and you might get bored toward the middle, but it does redeem itself toward the end, it’s very smart and surprising. The direction was very well done, and Edward Norton and Paul Giamatti did an outstanding performance. I did like the movie, and if you liked movies like Secret Windows and From Hell, you will like this movie too. To view the trailer Click here.

Kramer Goes Crazy

I just watched this clip on youtube.com, and it's actually made me hate one of my most loved characters on TV. Michael Richards (Kramer from Seinfeld) outbursts on stage very racist comments toward African American in front of a small comedy club crowd, I don’t mean comments that people might interprets as racist comment, no he was bluntly yelling the N word at some of the audience members. The video shocked me. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing; I couldn’t believe that someone would still think and say these things in our day and age. He did apologize later on thou on the David Letterman show, but the damage is done. I mean his career was already slipping away, and now he will never be able to get a gig. Racist people really disgust me, and to see a veteran comic that people loved to come out like that is really a shame.

LIVE A SECOND LIFE

A friend of mine referred me to this site. It’s about a multiplier game that is revolutionary. This game enables you to live another life (digitally) beside your life. You can do or be anything you want, you can become a hero with special ability, you can be a criminal, you can own a business, you can make friends, you can get married, and you can meet and date people. The limits are endless but very important aspect is that you can make money (real money). There is an exchange rate between the L$ (which used in the game) and US dollars. I tested it out yesterday, its kind of confusing in the beginning, but as soon as you get a hold of it you can do anything you want.

Its also will consume a lot of time from you if you get into it, but anything you create inside it belongs to you legally, you can publish the animation that you created and make money out of it without having to get any rights from the developers. So get on make friends, travel to different places, make money, buy land, own a business, and date and have intercourse with anybody you like. There are a total of 1,544,736 right now living in this virtual life, and its growing exponentially. [Link]

Casino Royale (Review)

Gripping start, entertaining plot and surprising ending. The movie had all the ingredient to make it a good watch. The acting was excellent. The Action sequences were thrilling. The plot was clever. Although watching it in a Kuwaiti theatre was a bad idea hence they edited out very crucial scenes of the movie. All in all I do recommend this movie, but it’s a pure action movie don’t expect an Academy winning performance. I was disappointed with the Bond girls though, as actresses they were good, but they’re not as hot as Bond girls should be.

Daniel Craig is the darkest Bond ever. Although Daniel didn’t have the sex appeal that usually Bond actors do, but he brought toughness and ruggedness in the character. He could be the toughest Bond ever. He is scary and dark unlike the other Bonds that we’re used to. I knew he’s a good actor, but he really impressed me with his performance. That being said here is a list of the actor that were nominated for the Bond role, which one do you think would have done a better job, My pick is Clive Owen:

  • Ioan Gruffudd
  • Hugh Jackman
  • Jude Law
  • Ewan McGregor
  • Julian McMahon
  • Alex O'Loughlin
  • Clive Owen
  • Adrian Paul
  • James Purefoy
  • Jonathan Rhys-Meyers
  • Colin Salmon
  • Dougray Scott
  • Ewan Stewart
  • Karl Urban
  • Goran Višnjić
  • Dominic West
  • Sam Worthingt

    The New Lumina in Kuwait

Yesterday I went to the Alghanim dealership is Alrai, I wanted to take a look at the new Lumina. I never was a big fan of the it and this one didn’t change my mind. I did like the exterior thou, it looked sporty and cool. The interior on the other hand still make you feel like your sitting in a cheap car, the seats are not comfortable, the Side Break looks like a toy and the dash board still looks cheap. The Lumina SS has 360 HP which is very cool but it took 6.0 L engine to get it, giving an awful compression ratio. The Lumina always had shitty handling I heard they fixed in this model but I need to drive it to believe it.

I also noticed the new Caprice there, which also had an SS model with 6.0 L engine. The Caprice interior was more luxuries, and the exterior looked pretty good. Although if you look closely you can notice that they stole the front look from Mercedes, and the back look from Chrysler 300C.

There was no prices mentioned, but I don’t think they should charge a lot for it. The only thing that I think is going to be ground breaking coming out of Chevy is the New Camaro, and I can’t wait for that.

    The New Bond

Daniel Crag is going to be the new Bond. Daniel Crag was born on 1968 in Chester, England. Most of the Bond fanatics hated the idea that Daniel Crag is going to be the new bond. I’m not a big fan of him myself, but I have to admit he is a very talented actor. I think the biggest objection was that he’s not as much of a sex symbol as the previous Bonds were like Sean Connery and Pierce Brosnan. If you haven’t seen his movies I would recommend the “Road to Perdition”, “The Jacket”, “Layer Cake” and “Munich”. In all the mentioned movies except for “Layer Cake” he played a supporting role. So Casino Royale is the biggest step in his career. I just hope he does a good job so that the Bond series stays at the top of the action movies to watch.

Milan offense is back on track

After scoring 3 goals on Inter Milan and 4 goals on Anderlecht we can say that Milan got their scoring touch back. Gilardino scored his first goal in the UEFA Champions after scoring his first goal in Serie A. Kaka scored a hatrick against Anderlecht and joins Drogba on the Top scorer list with 5 goals. So things are going well for Milan, the question is if they can keep it up?

Drogba steals two points from Barcelona

The game was very close, very physical (46 fouls and 10 yellow cards) and very exciting. Barcelona come out blazing in the beginning of the first half and managed to score a goal by Deco. After the Barcelona goal Chelsea turned the pressure on Barcelona but with no results, surprisingly Valdes was able to save very difficult shots. The Second half started with Chelsea putting the pressure again on Barcelona until it finally paid of with Lampard scoring the first goal for Chelsea. Barcelona fights back with a goal from Gudjohnsen by a beautiful pass from Ronaldinho. The game after the Barcelona 2nd goal slowed down dramatically and it looked like the game was going to finish with this result, but in the 90th minute a sloppy defense and goaltending from Barcelona resulted in Drogba scoring Chelsea second goal. Gudjohnsen was injured toward the end of the second half it will be a little scary if it is serious since Eto` will not come back before 5 months, that could mean Giuly starting (scary). Barcelona has a problem now since they find themselves in third spot behind Bremen with the threat of being eliminated from the champions.
